Professor Jose Capa Salinas was the recipient of the Advancing Structural Steel Education Award to participate in a hands-on workshop organized by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).

The workshop provided information regarding course planning, AISC resources, textbooks, techniques for teaching behavior, maximizing student engagement, and teaching stability concepts. The workshop facilitators were experienced educators who have been involved with AISC education, research, and specification work for many years.
