This project aims to assess the viability and performance of epoxy adhesives in structural steel applications by investigating their structural behavior and the practical implications of field application. The project involves a literature review on adhesives, identifying opportunities for their application in bridge retrofitting, and performing large-scale laboratory testing.
This study proposes implementing basic standards, protocols, and testing requirements that a given drone (UAS) must meet and demonstrate when performing bridge inspection. The project involves implementing the developed testing protocols, training to INDOT personnel, and developing a uniform assessment criterion.
This project aims to understand the impact of a new insulation material on the structural integrity and performance of cryogenic hydrogen storage tanks. The project scope includes: analysis of structural mechanics of steel storage tanks under varying insulation materials, computational modeling, and laboratory testing.
